Vizhinjam, Kovalam and Varkala are among the few beaches that attracts tourists from all over the world. Among these three, Varkala is known as the ‘Goa of Kerala’. The well-maintained wide roads, the solitary resorts, the flex boards with special programs written on them and also visitors riding rented scooters with maps in their hand; made me realize why the name Kerala’s Goa is well suited for Varkala. I saw a board ‘Welcome to Kappil Beach’ as I reached near a bridge. AS I crossed the bridge, my gaze fell on the backwaters of Edava.  The cool breeze creating ripples in the water was a beautiful sight to behold.
