Chimmini Dam is located 20km away from Varantharappilly. Built across the Kurumali River, this dam was commissioned in the year 1996. The aim was to bring in water for the paddy fields in Trissur district. A trip through the lush green rubber plantation and suspension bridges is a wonderful experience. There is a mini Electrical project at the dam. The Eco-tourism project also attracts many tourists to the Chimmini dam.
