Each journey will present different memory. Journey begins through the drizzling rain, snow filled grass land and through the deserted land to the land of rain, Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. Some journeys are like that, it will be all of a sudden when the mind conceive it. Agumbhai is situated in Shimoga. 70s and 80s village life will be reminded during the journey. It still preserves it heritage without much modernisation. The pathways are blessed with paddy land, coconut grooves etc. Frequent visit has made this journey very familiar. From Mangalore via Andhra Pradesh enjoying the rainforest to Agumbe. Journey is through Someshvara. Rain and mist are part of the journey. Otherwise also Agumbe without rain is very rare. May be the love towards rain might be attracting tourists to this place. In most of the peoples mind Agumbe means rain. Western ghats original beauty can be visualised during this journey. Forest that extend for almost 88 square kilometres. It's also rich in different varieties of plants. Rare variants of herbal plants are identified here. In 1974 Someshara was declared as animal reserve. Elk, tiger, deer, jackal and many other wild animals are over here.

From the tip valleys while beauty can be seen with the snow and clouds fighting to hide the beauty of Agumbe, it also takes us back to the old village days. Other than tourists and those that travel to Shimoga this place is inhabited by few people. It's situated almost 2100 feet above sea level. It's 3km from Agumbe town. There is main road followed by muddy road. Small building built in the midst of mountains in a deserted land. There are a lot of waterfalls over here. In addition to that there is wild beauty along with scary quietness. With the permission of forest department trekking is permitted. Next journey is to Godhi Gundi Waterfall. It's a beautiful journey through the forest with the background music of rain. Even though scared inside, moving towards Waterfall. Leaves that are shed are soaked in rain water. Here and there broken branches of tree and pieces of huge tree are seen. Leeches are there. Water is falling down from 126 feet and it gets accumulated near the rocks at bottom like a small pond. Seetha river is considered its main channel. Stepping into the cold water by walking over slippery rocks. Tiredness due to journey will be washed away at that moment. That coldness reaching into heart. Even though it's small it's enticing to watch the sparkling water flowing down from the rock . Inhabitants over here believe that in ancient days monks had done penance over here.
