Pahalgam is a hill station 2130m above sea-level in mu and Kashmir. This beautiful town lies 96km away from Srinagar and it takes 2 hours to reach here. This is one of the hill stations were visitors are allowed throughout the year. You can book a Tat Sumo or avail JKRTC/ordinary buses from the tourist reception centre. Sun Temple at Martand – This is another famous Sun temple on the way to Pahalgam. It is situated just 2 miles away from Anantnag.
Gurudwara Guru Nanak Devji- This sacred shrine of Guru Nanak is located 61km away from Srinagar. This is one of the prominent religious sites in Kashmir.
There are two classes of buses that travel to Pahalgam from Srinagar – Deluz buses and the lower-class buses. The tickets are comparatively low and are nonstop buses that ply directly to Pahalgam. Private buses are also available. You can book from KMDA, Pantha Chowk, Srinagar Bypass. Though renting a tata Sumo or other taxi may be costly, they are more comfortable to travel.
