Ooty's tourist territory starts at Kotagiri situated at Nilgiri. This small city is quite peaceful since it's less crowded compared to Ooty. The route to Kotagiri is through Doddabetta which is the tallest mountain tops in Nilgiri. The misty clouds covering the fully lighted Ooty city is an unique to be watched. The route is through Tea estates and vegetable gardens in addition to that Kotagiri has got a unique climate of warmth felt by the Sunny shades along with cool breeze. As Kodanadu is approached beautiful grass lands can be viewed.
The temple belonging to Thodar Tribal group is also located on the way. There is approximately 20km between Kottagiri and Kodanadu. And the route through the tea estates end at Kodanadu. On the way Thoda tribal groups worship center and beautiful paddy fields can be seen.Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha's resort is located here. Kodanadu view point can be named as the 'Panorama Photo' of Nilgiri valley. From the watch tower Moyar river that leads to Bhavani Dam, Ramaswami temple and Mysore can be visualised. Even though this place is not so crowded, many newly shooting home stay centres and resorts belong to this area now.
