The Lion Safari Park is a beautiful island lying next to the Neyyar dam in Thiruvananthapuram. A boat ride from here to the safari park costs Rs.200. The boat ride will cruise you through the waters while the visitors can view breath-taking sight of the forests. On the way, the visitors are also taken to another island, the Steve Irwin crocodile park where we can see crocodiles. The Lion Safari Park is surrounded by barbed wire fence. Once we reach here, we are asked to board a mini bus. A shutter is opened to allow the bus go inside and then closed again. This safari allows us to get very close and watch the lions roaming around freely and even take photographs.
