But the 27km journey from Ooty to Avalanche presents an amazing view of the fascinating Nilgiri hills. The road passes through villages apart from a small town on the way. We can see carrot/beetroot farms and tea plantations on both sides of the road. Usually tea plants are grown on slopes of hills but here it’s an unusual yet beautiful sight with tea plantation spread over same plain. One thing that you must remember is to eat well at Ooty town before beginning the journey from there. There are no hotels or accommodation facilities anywhere on the way to Avalanche. But you may get to buy mangoes, carrots and corn cobs on the way. Monday is a holiday here. Entry time is from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.
