The is one of the best museums in Kerala. Situated at Thevara in Ernakulam district, this museum is the only one built in the traditional architectural style of Kerala. It showcases Kerala’s rich cultural and exquisite historical objects of the past 1000 years. There are almost 5000 valuable relics and antique objects stored here. This museum gained its fame after the visit of Prince Charles who had come here. It is also featured in the Limca Book of Records as a national achievement. It is certainly one of the important places to visit in South India. A visit to this museum will enlighten us with the rich heritage and culture of Kerala for the past 1000 years. There is also a folklore theater which conducts authentic dance forms of yester years. The museum is managed by the Folklore Museum Charitable Trust headed by Mr. George Thaliath.
