Marottichal Waterfall is situated 22 km away from Thrissur town. It's best to visit this place during rainy season. This Waterfall situated in Puthoor panchayat is deep in the forest, to reach here one has to travel through the forest for about 3km. Only few visitors visit this place but it's a very beautiful place. Through the forest the tourists has to walk quite a few kilometres because of which only few prefer to visit here. It's one among the few beautiful heavenly places that are scarcely visited by the tourists in Kerala. Marrottichal can be reached by travelling through Ernakulam-Palakkad highway, after passing Ammaloor and Thaloor, the very next stop is Kootanaloor from there drive through Manthamangalom-Marrottichal road for almost 12km which will lead to this place.
All those who travel from Palakkad can take Mannothi Nadathra kuttanaloor road. From Thrissur there is private bus service. There are very few shops at Marottichal. It's the best place for one day trip. There is high chance to see Deer if walked quietly through the forest. Unlike other tourist spots this place has not yet been polluted. It's the best tourist spot to enjoy as a family.
