Kadalundi is a coastal village that lies 20km away from Kozhikode district in Malappuram spread over a vast 300 acres of land. This picturesque region gives a breath-taking view of delta, mangroves, canals and a bird sanctuary with varieties of migratory birds. This place has many tiny islands like bala thuruth, cheru thuruth, C.P thuruth surrounded by water. Most of the locals here earn their livelihood by growing mussels and clams in the river. Though the clams are rich in calcium, it has very hard cover which is very difficult to break. These fish are very costly and can cost up to Rs.300 per kilogram. Around 135 migratory birds use to visit the reserve area earlier. However, the number has gone down due to the climatic change and hunting of these endangered species.  The boat journey in the river is very exciting especially while moving under the bridges. Since trains ply every few minutes through the bridges, one can experience the tremor while under the bridge. The journey under the bala thuruth and pipe line is something worth experiencing.
