Abha is the capital city of Asir province in Saudi Arabia. Situated in the northern region, Asir, is one of the thirteen provinces in Saudi Arabia. Abha- Khamis Mushayt region which lies 2200 metre (7200 feet) above the sea-level, is a tourist destination in Saudi. This region is also the coldest place in Saudi Arabia. It takes about 12 to 15 hours to reach the Khamis valley from Riyadh, the capital city pf Saudi. When I reached there, I saw many tents which I mistook to be the homes of poor locals here. But in reality, they belonged to a rich Arab family who had come here to enjoy their vacation. A small fee has to be paid to enter Habala. The valley has steep cliffs. So, during the olden day’s people came down to the valley with the help of ropes (habl) hung down. Since it was accessible only by a Habl or a rope, this valley came to be known as Habala. It is said that the tribe that lived here never accepted the supremacy of Saudi King. There are a few houses and remains of humans are still found here. Habala is not a place where everybody can enter. It is a scary deep valley visited only by the adventurous youth.
