After the release of ordinary film, Gavi the tourist place at Pathanamthitta was uplifted to stardom. All the tourist lovers in kerala would have dreamed at least once to visit this place which has only ksrtc service. Malabar inhabitants will be wondering to visit here, one has to go till Pathanamthitta. Happy news for Kozhikode localities is  there is KSTRC service to Gavi.   This evergreen forest is not so far. Yes, we are talking about the Gavi at Kozhikode known as Vayalada. From Balushery there is only KSRTC service to Gavi. Be prepared to see amazing scenes. Vayalada is almost 2000 feet above sea level. The water flowing out of Kakki Dam after electricity generation and the forest surrounding it is another sight. Along with tourist lovers, many newly married couples come here for photo shoot. It has a great future as prime location for tourism but it has not yet been exploited. Location that is distinct in its beauty, is always preferred as a tourist spot by all those in Kozhikode who know about this place. It's a fact that many of them in Kozhikode doesn't know about this place. But many from other location come over here, especially from Tamil Nadu. Vayalada and Mullanpara are loved by tourist because if it's natural beauty and climate. After reaching there, we will understand that. Many come over here to enjoy nature, being bored of city life. Many who have already visited here, come back again and again, how much ever one see this place, it still cherishes each one. It's quite near from Balasheri at Kozhikode. Streams flowing from uphill and step like hill pattern are Vayalada's speciality. All those who seek nature's phantasm definitely need to visit here. Vayalada is very close to Kozhikode Vayalada. There is always bus service from Balusheri. Recently Thalayittavayala road work got over, even through that route it can reached easily. Most interesting journey is through Balusheri. Mountain Roads with twists, uphills and downhill. On either side of the road there is deep excavation and the streams flow in the midst of that.  Rubber and tea plantations are there. Kottamukke, tallest among the mountain groups has best climate. Even the Mullanpara at Kottamukke is famous. As the name suggests it has sharp thorns. Walking is the only possible conveyance method. This journey will always be memorable. On top of the mountain it's covered with thorns. From Mullanpara, Kakkaya Dam can be seen. The water that flows from Dam after electricity generation and the surrounding forest is a distinct scene. In Vayalada, the blueness of sky, dark green surroundings and the streams blend together giving a memorising a scene for eyes. It has some similarity to Ooty and Kodaikanal, may be not as beautiful as those places. Those seeking natures phantom scenes should definitely visit this place.
Route
From Balusheri it's 12 kilometres. Mount Vayalada view point, Island view Mullanpara, Kottakunne view point give natures unforgettable experience. Kozhikode to Balusheri is 25 kilometres and from Koiyilandi to Vayalada is 20 kilometres. There are very few bus services. It's better to go in personal vehicles.
