Kurumala is situated in Ilanji Panchayat in Ernakulam district. This is the second highest hill in the district. This beautiful hill spot lies 11km away from another tourist destination, the Areekkal waterfall. This is not a difficult place to climb. The main feature of this hill top is that one can see places of almost 5 districts from here.  There is no other hill in Kerala where you can get a panoramic view of so many places. Many visitors come here to enjoy watching the sun rise and sun set every day. People also love to take rest on top of the hill enjoying the fresh air and quiet atmosphere. Some even visit here at night so as to watch the beautiful stars in the clear sky. Kurumala is not a popular tourist spot yet. So, there is hardly any crowd here. On a clear weather day, you can even see the Arabian sea far away. The other sights seen from here include temples, a refinery, the Light house in Alappuzha and the Kuninjimala in Kottayam. There is a beautiful church for the believers on top of the Kurumala.
