This is one amazing place one should visit at least once in his life time. Situated around 190 km away from Ernakulum, this wildlife sanctuary has neither resorts nor a proper road. One reason you will not find any transport facilities here. You can also reach this sanctuary from Marayur in 18 km via Marayur-Udumalpeta road. Remember to report at the spot by 2 in the afternoon. They charge Rs.3500 for 4 person including vegetarian food. Those who want non-veg food will have to bring the items from Marayur and they are ready to cook for you. Remember to buy the food items at Marayur as there is no other place where you can buy once u cross Marayur. Trekking and exploring the forest is an unforgettable experience. The Thoovanam waterfalls is another spectacular sight you cannot afford to miss. The Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is not only a bachelor spot; this place is amazing and safe spot for families too. The only disadvantage is that it is one of those difficult places to reach.
