Egypt is a very popular tourist destination. This country has many places of tourist attraction. The airfare is around Rs.37000 for a two-way ticket (Etihad flights – Mangalore-  Abu Dhabi). A one day stay at a good 3-star hotel would cost less than Rs.2000. The food price too is affordable. The popular food here includes grilled chicken, falafel, kuboos and different varieties of fruits. In case you wish to eat biriyani, there is a Maharaja Hotel and Lulu hypermarket in Cairo.  The entry fee to the Pyramid is 50 Egyptian pound. If you plan to ride in a horse-cart, it will cost you about 400 pounds if you bargain well with the cart owner. (1 Egyptian pound = 4 Indian Rupees). There are many interesting sights here which might take two hours to see. We can also go inside the pyramid. There are many sculptures and pyramids here. The stones and mud bricks of the pyramid seem to emit a strange energy.  The Cairo National Museum is a very important tourist spot here. This magnificent 3-storey building has extensive collections of pharaonic antiquities and it would take almost a day to complete walking kilometers inside the museum to watch everything. Entry fee is again 50 pounds. Close to the museum, there is the very famous 150years old Muhammed Ali Mosque which stands proud as an example of Egyptian Architectural skills. A walk in the moonlight along the banks of river Nile is something unforgettable. We can see the enchanting view of Delta formation at the banks of river Nile and enjoy a ‘Nile Cruise’ dinner in a large boat for which the entry fee is 300 pounds. Egyptians love Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Bollywood movies a lot.  The traffic rules are similar to that of India. And just like us Indians, they too are least interested in following the rules. So, it’s always better not to travel during night time. If you are a person who loves beaches, you must visit Shamshek which can be compared to our Goa. Lot of tourists come here to enjoy the sunny beach. The other important spots of interest include the Royal Library, Zoo and National museum in Alexandria.
